Search intent and content

  1. The page answers one clear question or task that people actually search for
  2. The answer appears in the first two sentences
  3. It adds something the top results don’t: data, a tool, an example or first-hand experience
  4. Facts, prices and rules are current and dated
  5. Sources are linked for any figure a reader might question
  6. No filler paragraphs; every heading earns its place
  7. Written for people; the main phrase appears naturally, not repeatedly

Titles, headings and snippets

  1. Title tag is about 50–60 characters and leads with the main topic
  2. Meta description (around 150 characters) states the benefit
  3. Exactly one H1, matching the page’s purpose
  4. H2s follow the order a reader would ask questions
  5. URL is short, lowercase and readable

Links

  1. Links to 2–5 related pages on your own site
  2. At least one existing page links to this new page
  3. Link text describes the destination (not “click here”)
  4. External links go to authoritative sources; paid links are marked sponsored

Media and experience

  1. Images are compressed and have descriptive alt text
  2. The page works well on a phone with no sideways scrolling
  3. Main content loads fast; nothing jumps around as it loads
  4. Ads never cover or push down the main content

Technical

  1. The page is indexable (no stray noindex) and in the XML sitemap
  2. Canonical URL points to itself
  3. Structured data matches visible content, with no fake ratings
  4. FAQ schema only covers questions actually shown on the page
  5. Author or reviewer and the last-updated date are visible
