Monthly Business Finance Sheet (Excel / Google Sheets)
A simple workbook to track sales, expenses, GST and profit month by month. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets (File → Import) and LibreOffice.
What’s inside
| Sheet | What you enter | What it calculates |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | Date, invoice no., customer, taxable value, GST rate | GST amount and invoice total per row |
| Expenses | Date, vendor, category, amount before GST, GST paid | Total per row |
| Summary | Nothing: it fills itself | Monthly sales, output GST, expenses, input GST, net GST payable and profit |
How to use it
- Enter each sale on the day you invoice it, with the date as a real date.
- Enter each business expense with the GST shown on the bill.
- Open Summary at month-end: “Net GST” is output GST minus input GST, a rough guide to what you owe before filing.
The summary is a guide for small businesses, not a GST return. Input tax credit has conditions, such as the supplier filing their return; confirm with your accountant.
